Darrell Whittaker Jewellery

Darrell studied at the Ravensbourne College of Art, and the Royal College of Art where he graduated with a masters degree and was awarded a silver medal for work of special distinction and for his kinetic jewellery. He has since taught at the Royal College of Art in London, Central School of Arts and Crafts in Kingston Polytechnic and Melbourne University.

His commissions over the years have been extraordinarily diverse, ranging from costume jewellery for the Royal Shakespeare Companys production of Troilus and Cressida to work for Liberties of London, Cartiers of Bond Street, London, Dunhills Piccadilly and the World Chess Federation. Whilst in Australia he was commissioned to design and make a complete silver coffee service for Howard Freeman, a silverware collector of Melbourne, monogram seals for the Frobisher Galleries, in conjunction with American Express, a golf trophy for the interstate championship sponsored by the Lintas Advertising Agency in Melbourne and a presentation desk set for the President of Sanyo to commemorate the 'That's Life' advertising campaign.

When back in England Darrell began designing and making exquisite jewellery to flatter and excite attention. His idea was to create a range of originals which look fantastic with either a designer outfit or a tee-shirt and jeans. He sells to a wide range of customers, from all parts of the globe, many of whom make a point of visiting Darrell's stall in Covent Garden when they are in town, just to top up their collection of Darrell Whittaker originals.

At the present time we do not intend haveing our 'At Home' in May, as we usually do. Watch this space for details of when we will be having it. Look forward to seeing you all some time soon. Please also note that we will be alternating our Tuesday and Wednesday slots so, if you want to see us in the market, it would be wise to ring us first.

Why not come and see Darrell and Jean in Covent Garden on a Tuesday at Stall 26 Wednesday at Stall No.7 or a Thursday at Stall No.14. Just recently we have not been in the market on a Tuesday so, if you particularly want to see us, it would be better if you phone us first to check.
